Secretary of State Perales to Visit Town of Hudson to Announce
CSBG Workforce Development Grant Award Winners for Upstate Region
More than $2 million in aid statewide will help provide job training, job skills
development, job placement and retention programs, and ESL training
Albany – Secretary of State Cesar A. Perales will be in the town of Hudson on Wednesday, December 21, at 11:00 a.m. to announce the 11 upstate recipients of Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Workforce Development grants. More than $2 million in CSBG funds will enable Community Action Agencies throughout the state to provide underserved communities with a variety of employment related services including workforce development, job training, job skills development, job placement and retention programs, English as second language training, and financial and civic literacy programs.
The Secretary will announce the recipients during a tour of Columbia Opportunities Inc. at the John L. Edwards Elementary School, at 360 State Street, Hudson. While there, the Secretary will meet with members of the Board of Directors and staff. Members of the press are invited to join the Secretary for a walkthrough of the facilities. The Secretary announced the ten downstate region recipients of the CSBG Workforce Development grants on Monday.
